A campaigning badge

No More Talk! Save Library Walk! I have been involved in a campaign to Save Library Walk. Library Walk is an unassuming little ginnel between Central Library and the Town Hall. It is a cut through, a short cut, but it is also a delightful almost accidental space between two public buildings in Manchester. The council have pushed plans through for a curved glazed link to be constructed in the space with out getting the correct permissions to stop up the public right of way. This omission has been the subject of a public inquiry over the past few months, and a decision whether the council will have to maintain the right of way is expected sometime this month. The Friends of Library Walk made these lovely badges for people to show their support for the campaign and it has delighted me to see so many people pin one to their lapels over the last few days. There were several designs some with photos of the space, some identifying the wearer as a “Library Walker”. They came in three sizes, 25mm, 38mm and 58mm. Fingers crossed the inquiry will go in out favour!
